ResumeATS started as a tool for one problem: a technical resume with thirteen years of genuine, relevant experience was being screened out of roles it clearly matched. The experience was not the issue. The wording and the layout were.
Applicant tracking systems do not read a resume the way a person does. They parse it into fields and rank it on overlap with the posting. What exactly is an ATS, and why does it matter?
An applicant tracking system is the software employers use to receive and rank applications. It parses your resume into structured fields and scores it against the posting. If the parse is poor or the keyword overlap is thin, you can be filtered out before any person sees your name.
Will it invent experience I don’t have?
No. The optimizer only rephrases bullets you already wrote, so that skills genuinely present in your history are stated in the posting’s vocabulary. It never fabricates roles, dates, employers or achievements.
Is my resume data private?
Yes. Resumes live in your account only and are never shared between users. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, sessions use short-lived tokens with rotating refresh, and you can delete your stored resume or entire account at any time.

Does it actually improve my ATS score?
In internal testing with a 13-year technical resume, the score went from 85% to 100% against a cloud architect job description. Real results vary with how large the keyword gap in your original resume is — a resume already well matched to a posting has less room to move.
